ALL East Weekly Game Recaps - Week 8
A busy week in the Arena Lacrosse League East for Week 8 with five games on the docket.
Friday evening at the Children's Arena in Oshawa, Ontario
Whitby Steelhawks 17 Peterborough Timbermen 13
The Whitby Steelhawks and the Peterborough Timbermen came into this game as the top two teams in the league thus far this season. This game did not disappoint!
Peterborough took it to the Steelhawks in the first quarter getting up 5-3, but a six goal run by Whitby in the second changed the complexion of the game. The Timbermen tried to overcome with a four goal run in the third, but the Steelhawks were able to hold on. Four different times Peterborough came within one goal, but Whitby was able to keep the lead the rest of the way en route to a 17-13 win.
Devin Pipher (2g,9a) led the way for Whitby, with Liam Aston (3g,2a), Cole Hanrahan (2g,3a), Landon Sinfield (3g,0a) and Luke Keenan (1g,5a) helping the cause.
Cam Milligan (2g,3a), Taite Cattoni (2g,3a), Brine Rice (2g,1a), and Aaron Woods (2g,1a) all had a pair of goals, with Zach Thompson (1g,3a) being the playmaker.

Saturday at the Children's Arena in Oshawa, Ontario
Early Game
Paris RiverWolves 17 Oshawa Outlaws 16
This game had everything. Hard hits, finesse goals, and a dramatic finish. These teams showed just how much parity there is in the league with the teams taking turns leading all afternoon. Although Oshawa drew first blood, a four goal run from Paris had them in control early. The Outlaws came back with a run of their own to tie the game, and this was how it went all day.
With the game tied with under four minutes to go, Austin Blumbergs gave the Outlaws the lead at 11:15. Not to be outdone, Paris tied the game 0:15 seconds later with Matt Duncan converting a Koichi Nakamura pass from in front. Cue the drama. Off a timeout, Kaymen Diabo was able to beat Ryan Schuetzkowski with just 0:19 seconds left with a high to high laser to win the game for the RiverWolves.
Matt Duncan (3g,6a) and Kaymen Diabo (6g,2a) led the way for Paris, with support from Caiden Merritt (2g,5a), Noah Simonelli (2g,3a), and Nick Ellerton (2g,2a).
Luke Laskiewicz (4g,2a) led the Outlaws offense. Josh Toguri (2g,2a), Josh Gilray (2g,2a), and Gareth Haigh (2g,1a) had a pair each, with Austin Blumbergs (1g,3a), James Whiteford (1g,3a) and John St. John (0g,4a) as the set up men.

Late Game
Toronto Monarchs 18 Whitby Steelhawks 19 in Overtime
The Monarchs played their hearts out in this game, showing that they should still be in the conversation when the playoffs begin. This game was tied nine seperate times before the Monarchs finally pulled ahead late in the third, and into the fourth.
This game was looking to be Whitby's first loss of the year. With 5:21 left Whitby started their comeback, scoring three unanswered goals in 1:29 to eliminate an 18-15 deficit sending it to overtime. In OT Matthew Boissonneault scored an unassisted shorthanded goal at 2:51 to keep the Steelhawks undefeated.
Nate Woods (4g,1a), Landon Sinfield (2g,3a), Matt Boissonneault (3g,1a), Luke Keenan (2g,1a), Devin Pipher (2g,1a), Liam Osbourne (3g,1a) and Cole Hanrahan (2g,0a) led the way for Whitby.
Parker Pipher (3g,6a), Tanner Buck (2g,4a), Jordan Dance (2g,4a), Riley Ford (3g,2a), and Cody Inness (2g,0a) led the Monarchs offense.

Sunday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario
Early Game
Brampton Express 23 Six Nations Snipers 11
The Brampton Express came out on a mission never looking back in this game. Jumping out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter, led by Pent Eistrat and Jacob Janke, Brampton was on their way to a big afternoon. While Wes Whitlow got one to start the second quarter for the Snipers, another four goal run put the game further out of reach. Credit the Express' defense with keeping the big guns of Six Nations off balance. The Snipers looked better in the second half scoring nine goals, but Brampton was able to match them throughout the half, cruising to the 23-11 victory.
Curtis Ward (3g,7a) and Jake McNabb (4g,5a) led the Express offense. Austin Hasen (2g,4a), Gavin Thibeault (2g,3a), Zach Sunderland (2g,3a), Pent Eistrat (3g,0a), and Jacob Janke (3g,0a) also played a big role in Brampton's victory.
Kealon Pilon (3g,2a), Jaden Patterson (2g,2a), Wes Whitlow (2g,1a), and Jeremy Bomberry (2g,1a) led the way for Six Nations, with Avery Steinbach-Parker (1g,4a) and Tye Argent (1g,3a) as playmakers.

Late Game
Peterborough Timbermen 18 Ohsweken Bears 9
While the Bears played a strong first quarter only being down 2-1, the roof caved in during the second quarter. The Timbermen scored six straight goals, and eight altogether in the quarter to blow the game open leading 10-3 at the half. Although Ohsweken tightened up their defense the rest of the way, the damage had been done. Peterborough came away with a decisive 18-9 victory.
Zach Thompson (3g,3a), Aaron Woods (2g,3a) and Reece Nugent (2g,1a), and Jacob Gasperetti (2g,1a) led the way for the Timbermen, with Cam Milligan (2g,7a) and Jack McAlpine (2g,6a) as the playmakers.
Eddie Renaud (3g,1a), Lucas Beaver (2g,0a), and Rioux Johnson (2g,0a) led the Ohsweken offense, with Steven Portelli (1g,3a) as the playmaker.
