Shockwave hope to repeat ALL title in 2020
St. Catharines Shockwave had a record-setting 2019 season in the Arena Lacrosse League. After an all-time best 13-1 regular season record the Shockwave swept past Whitby and Paris in the playoffs to capture their first ALL Cup. St. Catharines now have their sights set on another ALL first - to repeat as ALL Cup champions.
Season four in the ALL will begin the weekend of December 21-22. Shockwave will open their campaign with an ALL Cup rematch against the RiverWolves. They will do it with the 2019 ALL Coach of the Year behind their bench once again. Ron Henry guided the veteran roster to the championship last season and returns in 2020.
"Being champs and defending, is very hard to do, as you can see with three different teams winning the past three seasons," commented Henry. "But I’m confident are guys’ are up to the challenge."
On the floor the Shockwave will see some new faces in addition to their veteran leadership. Goaltender Chase Martin and defender Brooker Muir were both named to the ALL First Team while Chris Attwood and Bill O'Brien were Second Team all league. Muir is now a member of the New York Riptide who make their NLL debut on December 7. Martin is back with the status of Attwood and O'Brien unknown at date of publish.
